Up for grabs is a Rolex Submariner
3.1 mil serial number circa 1971 production
The case is incredible on this piece with not only original but still very sharp lugs and bevels. Very minor signs of wear for its age. Clear numbers between the lugs. Fat and original crown guards.
Dial is flawless MK5 with nice patina on dial and hands. No chips, no scratches, no relume. Open 6’s and 9’s.
Bezel insert is a fat font. Crystal is high dome instead on top-hate cyclops.
Caseback is original, stamped 1680 and dated IIi.71. As you can see, the inside of the caseback is super clean without any watchmaker’s marks or dates. The movement screws look undamaged and unused, so I doubt the movement has ever been out of the case. The crystal was most likely changed from the top of the case.
Bracelet is a Rolex 9315 folded link with 280 ends, no date code on clasp puts it at around 73-75 production, which would be period correct for a watch from 1971, since they are usually followed by 2 or so years after the watch.
Overall excellent condition piece with a very strong case. No box or papers.
